Inspired by the show, Gretchen worked with curator Cliff Stoltze and Gallery 210 director Terry Suhre to bring the exhibit to St. Louis.

We had a lot of fun creating the exhibition identity and poster-sized catalog. The identity uses imagery from the work in the exhibit to create a layered logotype that is visually similar to the posters. Instead of designing a traditional exhibition catalog for POSTGIG, we chose to create a poster. The front side provides a snapshot of every poster in the exhibition. The back includes an essay, acknowledgements and a list of the poster artists’ websites. We also designed an announcement postcard and large format entry signage.

The final images to the left include photos of the posters on display in Gallery 210 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Identity
Literature
Signage

<itunes:summary>
 POSTGIG is a traveling exhibition of hand-printed music posters that we first viewed at the AIGA National Conference in Memphis. Program themes were created to encourage members to switch to home delivery when refilling their prescriptions. Applications included: postcards, letters, brochures, posters and flyers.

“Peace of Mind” was developed for the Medicare audience: Baby Boomers, Silent and GI generations. Each set of materials had a slightly different tone to appeal to the member’s age. “Take Care” utilizes bold color and copy to catch the eye. This concept has been targeted as a possible future program.

Materials for a concept called “More Time” were developed for a specific corporate member of Express Scripts. With a focus on healthy reduction of sugar, fat and sodium, this year we designed pieces around the concept “Less is More.”

What began as a 120-page book for food formulators has evolved into an interactive tool that invites the viewer to dig deeper into Univar’s resources. The interactive PDF allows Univar’s clients to explore suppliers based on current food trends and instantly gain access to more in-depth information such as technical data and food formulations.

To support the theme, the Univar R&D team produces new products to giveaway at the show that highlight the features of their food ingredients (such as a low fat snack bar or a low sugar beverage). We create labels and product cards for these giveaways.

We also create ads for trade publications to promote Univar’s interactive tool and IFT booth presence.

In addition to the booth materials, during IFT, Univar has hosted several special events. For these engagements we have designed invitations, signage, menus and nametags.

Our work on IFT materials continues to be a huge success, as Univar forges new relationships with more customers.

Branding
Exhibit
Literature
Interactive
Advertising
Packaging
Event

<itunes:summary>
Navigating new trends in the food and beverage industry, Univar gathers leading suppliers across the globe — building a portfolio of ingredients and tools that support customer innovation.

For the past 8 years we have created materials for Univar’s presence at the annual Institute of Food Technologists tradeshow.

Each year we develop a theme to tie all the components together.
